• THE STORY OF SANDY CITY
  Jon and Zach met on a 2 year surfing expedition. The goal of the trip was to find the lost continent of Lemuria. The two young surfing scientists were unsuccessful at this, but instead found a deep rooted friendship and shared love of Husker Du and The Beach Boys. When a wild storm hit the atlantic ocean Jon and Zach were swept upon a small desert island where they recruited a young native boy named Eli. They clothed him in some gnarly threads, gave him an electric guitar and convinced him to start a band with them. Sandy City was born! Shortly after writing 4 songs the band surfed to England where they decided to give up music and work in an alphabet soup factory. After a few years of working hard to craft perfect little letters, Chris, the man next to Jon on the assembly line, accidentally spelled out the words "Surfin' WA" in his soup. Jon knew this had to be a sign so they immediately quit work, taking Chris with them, and split for the cool breezy coast of Seattle, Washington where they now reside summoning the sweet sandy punk rock vibe gods on a nightly basis to show the world the true meaning of the word gurp-shred.
